It hurts to be a Cubs fan. Say what you want about them, but don’t say they don’t play their hardest. They’re expected to lose. They have to fight and claw their way out of last place every single goddamn year. Most of the time they fail. Sometimes there’s a ray of hope.
Next year. The Cubs fan mantra. “There’s always next year.”
I believe next year will come. I will see Cubbie blue hoist that trophy.
